Tips For Portable Toilet Rentals
Whether your project or event is short-term or long-term, the benefits of having flushable restrooms generally outweighs the cost. Here are some things to consider when renting a portable toilet:
- Portable toilet rentals should be placed on level spots in dry, well-ventilated areas.
- The restroom facilities should be clear of vehicles and equipment so that they are accessible for servicing.
- During winter months, be sure the portable restrooms are not placed in an area where they may be plowed in.
- For servicing purposes, please inform if security clearance is needed, or if there are site hours to adhere to.
- If keeping unwanted guests from using your portable toilets is necessary, we will provide keys.

What's The Difference Between Our Facilities & Other Portable Toilet Rentals?
Unlike typical portable restrooms, our portable facilities offer the same features that you would find at home. Proper lighting, sinks with running water, flushable toilets and urinals, soap, hand-sanitizer and paper towels. They are also insulated and provide heating and air conditioning to protect employees and guests from the environment.
Who Can Rent Our Portable Toilets?
We offer portable toilet rentals for construction sites and private events. Our customers include contractors, construction companies and event hosts.
How Many Toilets Do I Need?
The number of toilets required depends on the type of toilet. One toilet per 15 people is required for water flush or non-recirculating chemical flush toilets. One toilet per 10 people is required for other types. For more information about the requirements, please see Ontario Regulation 213/91, Section 29, Hygiene requirements for construction sites.

How Are The Portable Toilets Maintained?
We will schedule your rental unit for a servicing visit, in order to clean and restock supplies.
What About Waste Disposal?
Scotland Facilities has a pump truck that is used for emptying the holding tanks when full. We then transport it to a waste water treatment facility to be disposed of.
